Abstract: | |||||||
Angiotensin II (AII) stimulation of aldosterone synthesis entails depolarisation of the zona glomerulosa (ZG) cells. Since the ZG membrane potential is known to depend on the membrane permeability to potassium ions (K+), this study investigated the relationship between 43K efflux from freshly-isolated bovine ZG cells and basal and AII-stimulated aldosterone release.
