|
The attempted cyclisation of ethyl 13-ketomyristate with potassium t-butoxide at high dilution, gave polymeric material and 13-ketomyristic acid. Ethyl alpha-acetylbrassylate under similar conditions, and also with sodium hydride as base, gave only ethyl hydrogen alpha-acetylbrassylate along with polymeric material.
