The value of human beings has become a prominent contemporary discourse nowadays. Despite the importance of the Quran in Islamic theology as embodying the true word of God, and as an essential principal source which affects Muslims' thoughts, actions, and behaviour, little attention has been paid to understanding comprehensively the conceptual elements of the value of the human being from a Quranic perspective. The Quran is considered to be a rich source for theological reflection and as being the most important influence on Muslim's action. This study focusses on analysing the conceptual elements that determine the value of human beings in the Quran. By applying a Quranic framework, this study has employed all related Quranic themes that are considered to be key conceptual components of the value of the human being. These themes were not considered in isolation, rather they were analysed all together to define the concept of the human value. Whilst the nature of the human being in the Quran was studied, it was also compared in light of other sub-themes, such as, the role of human beings and their attributes, both of which contain additional sub-themes. Examples of these subthemes are; concepts of istikhlaf, amanah, fitrah, free will, knowledge and ruh. The status of God in the Quranic worldview and its significance to understanding the value of the human being in the Quran was also analysed along with the theme of taskhir. These themes taken together were used to evaluate the position of the human being in the Quranic worldview, and this position in turn has established the value of the human being in the Quran.
