Abstract:
Strontium optical lattice clocks are proven to be excellent timekeepers. Their exceptional performance makes them a leading candidate for possible redefinition of the SI second and a valuable tool for searching for new physics beyond the standard model. This thesis reports on the development of strontium (Sr) optical lattice clocks at National Physical Laboratory (NPL).
