Work represented was divided into the two following parts: I. - Properties of ferroelectrics. II. - Dielectric amplifiers. Part I deals with the effect of various factors on the physical and dielectrical properties of ferroelectric materials. Chapter I gives a review and critical discussion of existing theoretical work on ferroelectricity. Chapter II presents the results of experiments performed to determine the effect of varying factors in the preparation of barium titanate ceramics on their dielectric properties. Chapter III deals with the variation of do conductivity with temperature, field staress and some additives. Also the time variation of conductivity is discussed. In Chapter IV is discussed the experimentally determined factors which influence the nonlinearity of ferroelectric materials. The effect of the magnitude of superimposed ac and do field on the nonlinearity was considered, The summary for part II is introduced immediately proceeding that part.
