A contribution to the study of the subchorial haematoma of the decidua
|
During a year's work (1903 -4) at the Hospice, 219 High Street, my interest in the Subject of blood moles was roused by the fact of six such specimens ;coming into my hands - Other two have since been lent for examination, making a total of eight. I was still further interested and stimulated to Make a careful study of these Specimens, with a view to if possible, throwing some fresh light on the Subject, by the fact that four out of the six cases had to be curetted on account of continuance of symptoms. These curettings will be described later, along with the macro- and microscopical descriptions and histories of each case. It is first intended however to review up to date the various theories put forward as to the causation of blood- moles, these having been gleaned from the literature on the subject.
