Abstract:
Service users, professionals and organisations consider caring an essential dimension of healthcare, rather than an ideal. Despite its value, evidence indicates that not every service user experiences caring at every healthcare encounter. Addressing this concern requires a definition and measure of caring within contemporary healthcare to better understand individual and organisational factors associated with caring and its impact on health outcomes.
