Abstract: | |||||||
A critical review is presented of the design and performance of a
range of electron optical image tubes currently used for picosecond
and sub-picosecond chronoscopy. The evolution of particular designs
from conventional image converters to picosecond resolution streak and
frame tubes is indicated and the design techniques used in their
development discussed.
