Abstract:
This thesis sheds light on the nonlinear relationship among Korean economic variables making use of recently developed nonlinear economic models and econometric methods. The main research topics discussed are the following. First is the Bank of Korea's nonlinear monetary policy rule. Second is the nonlinear PPP in Korean real exchange rate and third is the nonlinear New Keynesian Phillips Curve in Korea. Finally the nonlinear adjustment in Korean real stock prices is examined.
