Abstract: | |||||
This research explores with children and young people their knowledge of the way
others view them, how they view themselves and others, prior to and following a six
month period of multi-agency involvement.
Legislative and professional identification of children and young people for multiagency
involvement are discussed with reference to research on risk factors and
developmental paradigms. An alternative approach to childhood is described from a
Sociology of Childhood perspective advocating children as experts in their own right
and celebrating their competencies.
