Abstract:
Part I of this thesis is concerned with n.m.r. studies of some Grignard reagents in solution. It has been shown from the F resonance spectra that two types of species based on R2Mg and RMgX exist in C6F5MgX solution in ether or THF (where X = Cl, Br, I) and that the aryl exchange between them is slow at room temperature.
