Abstract:
The psychometric, forensic and social characteristics of 40 male offenders aged 16 to 36 with learning disabilities were examined in relation to their susceptibility to interrogative suggestibility. High and Normal Suggestibility scores were identified using the Gudjonsson Suggestibility Scales (GSS). Differences in interrogative suggestibility within the group were found to be largely the result of age and frequency and severity of offending. IQ and other psychometric measures were found not to predict High or Normal Suggestibility. The exception to this was a measure of oral comprehension using the WOLD.
