Abstract: | |||||||
Few periods in colonial history have, been more closely studied
than that which immediately preceded the outbreak of the, American
War of Independence. Some valuable contributions to colonial
policy, under the Old Empire have, been made but In general the
tendency, has been to focuss the attention on the machinery of royal
government and the relations between mother country and colonies.
For this reason colonial governors have only entered into theme
as they served to illustrate the trend of policy.
