Abstract:
The aminocoumarin antibiotics are of interest as they Inhibit proven antibacterial targets such as DNA gyrase. The novlosyl moiety and its decorations are very important for antibiotic activity. NovP and NovN are the two enzymes that catalyze attachment of these functional groups in the case of novobiocin biosynthesis, representing the last two steps of the pathway.
