Abstract: | |||||
Impatiens balsamino cv. Dwarf Bush Flowered undergoes floral meristem reversion when It is moved from inductive conditions (short days) to non-inductive conditions (long days). Floral meristem reversion Is the process by which a floral meristem reverts to vegetative organ production. Two lines of Impatiens balsamina (L. bolsamina) have been developed with different flowering properties. The red-flowered line reverts to vegetative organ production when moved from SD to LD, while the purple-flowered line only reverts If the induced leaves are removed when it is moved from SD to LD.
