Abstract: | |||||
There is significant change occurring within the broadcast industry and the business is encountering external challenges, and also new prospects, arising from the convergence of related industries and technologies. Simultaneously, this business sector is transitioning from the linear processing of assets (audio, video and text based material), to non-sequential procedures based upon digital technology. This study also reports on a review ot the working practices of those directly and indirectly involved in the functional use, administration and maintenance of the systems that support the media management processes; proposes a collaborative approach to the organisation of 'change'; points out the likely corollary for those directly involved in media activities; and describes the participatory and mutual practices that should be considered by service providers.
