World wide, the paint and coating industry makes an important contribution to everyday living, and plays an important role in the world economy. The scope of the present work is focused on the area of colloidal science with regard to pigment dispersion in non-aqueous printing ink systems. Thermodynamic interactions among components play a dominant role in the determination of the properties of multi-component systems, for instance, a typical printing ink formulation containing pigment, binder and solvent. One of the more important properties of a typical ink system is the dispersion property.
