Abstract: | |||||
This thesis describes the use of enzyme catalyst for the design and synthesis of polymer materials with well defined structure and function. Until now, the unique properties of enzyme catalyst have been largely overlooked for the synthesis of polymers. The aim of the work presented in this thesis is to apply such unique properties of enzyme catalyst for the synthesis of well defined polymer materials which would otherwise be impossible or infeasible to produce by chemical catalysts.
