Abstract: | |||||
This thesis investigates the two illustrated manuscripts of Virgil's Aeneid from the Late Antique Period, a number of illustrated manuscripts of the poem from the Early Modern Period and the 1502 woodcuts by Sebastian Brant. The purpose of this investigation is to ascertain the extent to which the illustrations offer interpretation of the text of the poem.
