Abstract: | |||||
The exposure of humans to antimicrobial resistant Salmonella Typhimurium through the ingestion of contaminated meat products, presents a risk to public health due to the possibility of antimicrobial treatment failure, resulting in prolonged illness and possible death. It is therefore essential that the level of antimicrobial resistant Salmonella entering the food chain is minimised.
