Abstract: | |||||||
The popularity of music-making among the wealthy in the seventeenth century is reflected in the large amount of domestic music that survives from the period. In the late seventeenth century this popularity increased further as professional music-making was brought to public venues such as the London theatres and domestic music was printed in greater quantity.
