Abstract: | |||||||
This thesis is the written component of an investigation that is in part a practice-based inquiry into the staging of recollections using emergent multimedia performance technologies. The methodology follows a structure of critical and theoretical inquiry into key debates in the field, the interrogation of these through models of practice in the form of case-study performances, and the staging of my own research-led performances. I evaluate the practical and theoretical outcomes of my own research performances in three chapters, but evidence of other knowledges may be gleaned from the attached DVDs of the performances and the CDs of music compositions that accompany their staging.
