Abstract:
Symmetrical 1(r)3 C-branched monomers containing a reactive isocyanate group together with a triad of tert-butoxycarbonyl protected amino groups have been synthesised and evaluated on a number of solid-phase supports as a means of loading enhancement. The chemical, physical and mechanical properties of each new generation of these support-bound dendrimers were investigated (e.g. loading enhancement, swelling properties, mechanical stability) in order to determine the optimal monomers and dendrimer generations for synthetic applications. These supports were used in the solid-phase synthesis of a library synthesis and as carriers for reagents and scavengers. Using this methodology, resin beads with a loading of 120 nmoles/bead were developed and tested in the solid-phase synthesis of triazine derivatives. Single-bead antibacterial screenings based on zone diffusion assays were successfully developed.
