Half-millionth thesis downloaded! - 21 November 2012
We have just celebrated the 500,000th thesis to be downloaded from EThOS. The milestone thesis was EThOS ID 549241 “The Kelso Abbey cartulary: context, production and forgery” by Andrew Smith, awarded in 2011 by University of Glasgow. Helen Durndell, Glasgow University Librarian, said “The Glasgow Theses Service now has over 2500 theses available freely online, many of these are a result of requests for theses through EThOS. We would like to congratulate EThOS ... for its support in providing unprecedented access to this valuable research content.” The thesis was downloaded by Dr Iain MacInnes of the UHI Centre for History at the University of the Highlands & Islands. On hearing of his ‘achievement’, Iain said “I’ve been a visitor to the EThOS site for a few years now and find it a valuable resource in providing access to doctoral research. EThOS makes this part of research that bit easier"
