Abstract:
This work aimed to explore the relationship between retinal vessel measurements and common chronic diseases. In recent times, it has been suggested that the noninvasive measurement of retinal blood vessels may provide additional insight into certain systemic diseases, with the retina essentially acting as a window onto microvasculature health locally and throughout the body. The work outlined in this thesis attempted to contribute to the existing body of research and evaluate retinal microvasclair parameters in several chronic diseases.
