Abstract:
This thesis is comprised of two research projects pertaining to ASD traits and Psychotic Experience. The first is a systematic literature review entitled "What is the prevalence of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and ASD traits in psychosis? A systematic review". The second project is a study entitled "An investigation of associations between types of childhood adversity and theory of mind impairments in schizophrenia". Both projects relate to a psychosis population, and are concerned with symptomalogical overlaps and underlying psychological mechanisms common to both ASD and psychotic presentations.
