Abstract:
This thesis provides an investigation into the mechanisms associated with mindfulness and compassion focused approaches to psychosis, and more specifically the experience of hearing voices. Presented are two chapters, first a systematic review investigating the current literature related to compassion focused approaches to psychosis and second, an empirical paper exploring the constructs of mindfulness of voices, self-compassion and attachment in relation to the experience of hearing voices.
