Abstract:
This thesis advances the development of an employee engagement model for organisations operating engineering alliances, weaving academic theory and engineering sector practice to fulfil the requirements of Staffordshire University's Doctorate of Business Administration. It makes a contribution to theory through the extension of Kahn's (1990) model of employee engagement and its application to engineering alliances with contribution to management practice presented as the first known employee engagement model of engineering alliances that has been commercially tested with major infrastructure owners within the United Kingdom.
