The results of a search for massive neutral bosons decaying via a top quark pair, and the normalised differential cross section measurement of top quark pair production with missing transverse energy are presented in this thesis. The results are based on approximately 5.1 fb-1 of data collected using the CMS detector at the LHC in 2011 at a centre of mass energy of /S = 7 TeV. The results agree within errors with the standard model expectations and a comparison between different Monte Carlo generators as well as different tunes (sets of theory parameters) is performed. Leptophobic topcolor Z' bosons with a width of 1.2 % (10 %) of their mass are excluded for masses below 1.3 TeV (1.7 TeV) and Kaluza-Klein gluons are excluded with a mass below 1.4 TeV at 95 % confidence level
