Abstract:
Gamma ray spectroscopy has been used in a wide range of research for studying nuclear structure of nuclei. Currently, this technique relies on advanced arrays of germanium detectors such as Gammasphere, Exogam and Jurogam, which are used at various laboratories in Europe and the USA. Such arrays are used to determine the properties of excited states in nuclei, such as their energy of excitation, lifetime, their gamma decay modes, spin and parity as well as other key properties.
