Abstract:
In the past decade rapid developments in laser technology have allowed the generation of light pulses with durations in the attosecond (10-18s) regime. With durations comparable to the orbital period for an electron, these light pulses have allowed the temporal resolution of electron motion and dynamics. To describe these dynamics, advanced theoretical methods are needed. The time dependent R-Matrix theory provides an ab-initio non-perturbative method for describing ultra-fast atomic dynamics.
