Abstract:
The quasi-one-dimensional cuprate PrBa2Cu408 and purple bronze Li0.9Mo6O17 have been studied by electrical and thermal transport, to test an empirical law, the Wiedemann Franz law in the possible one-dimensional limit. In strictly one-dimensional interacting systems, the Fermi liquid picture breaks down and a new generic quantum many-body state, the so-called Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid emerges, where the low energy excitations are uncoupled collective modes of spin and charge.
