Abstract:
Feline chronic gingivo-stomatitis (FCGS) is a syndrome characterised by persistent, often severe, mflammation of the oral mucosa. Usmg cross sectional and case control studies, the auns of this thesis were to estimate the prevalence of fCGS in cats visiting first opinion small anhnal vetermary practices, examine the risk factors for FCGS in the same population and also in pedigree cat households, and to investigate a possible link between major histocompatibility (MHC) tvne and FCGS.
