Abstract:
Collocation plays an important role in the production of not only correct but also natural English. This pedagogical need has been felt for a long time, and various dictionaries have been published to fulfill this need. However, it is only recently that special dictionaries for collocations have become established as one independent category, yet their structure allows only highly advanced learners and professionals to make a good and effective use of them. The aim of my thesis is to make a proposal for more user-friendly entry structure of a dictionary of collocations on the basis of the critical evaluation of current collocations dictionaries and the treatment of collocations in general EFL dictionaries.
