Abstract:
A linguistic analysis of the language characteristics of juvenile Hebrew literature (prose and verse), written for children up to seven years of age, has been performed. The literary corpus included writings written during two periods, 1945-1955 and 1975-1985. The selection of the literary corpus was based on results obtained from interviews of kindergarten teachers and Israeli-born mothers. A limited number of representative pages of each piece was analysed.
