Abstract:
This thesis reports on the establishment of an extensive and detailed composite dataset to support country and regional-level econometric studies of FDI in Thailand. Several models have been estimated. At the country-level, an analysis of the determinants of FDI inflow to Thailand was undertaken based on a panel data set compiled from a number of investing countries over the period 1970-2004. At the regional-level FDI was studied by assembling, investigating and incorporating provincial-level data covering a panel dataset of 76 provinces over the period 1985-2005. It should be noted that the assembled data is the first such source constructed to support regional econometric studies in Thailand.
