Abstract:
The thesis looks at conflicts about accessing natural resources, within an Indian national park, Kanha, through a sociological perspective. As conservation of natural resources, in the wild, involve segregating wildlife space for the wild flora and fauna and the indigenous human population of the region, therefore this gives rise to issues of who has access to what. The idea of conserving wildlife within legally designated spaces comes from the western concept of creating national parks. But it had various implications when applied to the rest of the world, especially, the developing world.
