Abstract:
The small, linear, polymeric chains which we call proteins are a part of all of life's processes. Their structurally dependant functions are so sensitive to mutation that small deviations from the evolved monomer sequence leads to cataclysmic and perilous diseases, namely Alzheimer's, CJD and others. This thesis presents a study of the fastest events which occur in the folding of two small proteins, L53AI54A Im7 and F13WG29A BdpA.
