Abstract:
The thesis investigates domestic energy demand and use in Jos a city in sub Saharan Africa. It adopts a multi-criteria assessment framework that reflects the multi-faceted nature of energy and reinforces the links between different subject domains. The method is eclectic in approach and links existing assessment techniques from different subject domains into a simultaneous whole-house energy demand assessment. The framework was designed to elicit data to aid energy planners at different stages of energy decision making.
