Abstract:
Molecular states in ⁸B, ¹⁰B, ¹¹B, ¹¹C and ¹²C have been studies in the reactions ⁶Li+¹²C at 60 MeV and ¹⁰B + ¹²C at 84.5 MeV. Final states in these nuclides were kinematically reconstructed from the measured energies and angles of the charged decay products. The original motivation was to identify theoretically predicted, but so far tmobserved, three-centre molecular states in ⁸B. No evidence for these was found. However, the ⁷Be+ρ decay of low energy ⁸B states was observed.
