Abstract:
The ability to determine the likelihood and extent of injury has been at the forefront of preventive medicine for many years. The injury incidence of elite schoolboy footballers aged 9-16 yrs is of concern to all professionals involved because if the injury is long term it can affect the development of a player at the most critical time. A number of strategies have been employed to identify vulnerable players, more susceptible to injuries. There is little longitudinal data available especially for schoolboy footballers.
