Abstract:
Human embryonic stem cells (ESC) can be maintained indefinitely in vitro and have the capacity for self-renewal and to remain in an undifferentiated state. Improvements in the derivation of human ESC lines are investigated in this study. To avoid the animal ingredient contamination during the immunosurgery procedure, entire blastocyst and mechanical removal of trophoectoderm cells were used and this proved to have similar derivation efficiency when compared to the plating of ICM isolated by immunosurgery.
