Abstract:
Advances in computer processing power have led to an increase in the quality and quantity of atomic data generated in many academic institutions worldwide. Moreover, the falling costs of disk storages coupled with the ever expanding functionality of open source software available today creates the opportunity to develop an interactive database of atomic data free of software licensing restrictions. This thesis concerns the development ofsuch a system. Although many similar systems exist, the proposed system should provide a range of new features, such as functionality for its users to upload new work, peer review of data, a discussion forum and interactive tools for the approximation offigures based on existing work.
