Abstract:
Owing to myriad desirable character traits, ferromagnetic metal/semiconductor hybrid structures are potential building blocks for the development of next generation spin sensitive devices. The objective of this work was to explore a selection of physical characteristics associated with two such systems with a view to assessing their spintronics credentials: Fe/GaAs (001), which has been extensively studied in recent years; and Ni/GaAs (001). which has received comparatively little attention.
