Abstract:
This thesis explores new methods of applying Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) using unconventional electrode arrangements and novel measurement collection strategies. It focuses on opportunities for improving the quality of 3D electrical tomography by employing an increased number of measurements facilitated using moving electrodes. Industrial process applications of EIT are targeted to focus the research and it is a requirement that any electrode motion complies with the process to maintain the non-intrusive nature of EIT.
