Thermal desorption-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (TD-GC-MS), acoustic emission (AE), and Raman, near infrared (NIR) and mid infrared (MIR) spectrometries were investigated to assess their potential as monitoring techniques for industrial antibiotic-producing Streptomyces and Basidiomyces fermentation processes.
